Shape Your Face With A Simple Injection

Looking for a way to remove lines and wrinkles from your face?
Do you have crow’s feet or lip lines that make your face look older or more tired?
Are there lines on your cheeks that make you feel uncomfortable in your own skin?

Dermal fillers can help.

Dermal fillers are a non-surgical solution that let you remove fine lines and wrinkles.

You won’t need weeks or months to recover, and your new look will last for several months.

All dermal fillers use the same process: You sit in a chair where Dr. Cohen injects a safe and natural solution into your skin. It usually takes less than an hour, and is much less expensive than surgery.

No matter which dermal filler you use, the result is the same. Your face will look young and attractive. Not only will you look younger – you’ll feel it, too.

Dermal Fillers FAQ's

Dr. Cohen has reviewed and carefully selected four different dermal fillers for his practice.

Restylane
Juvederm
Belotero
Radiesse
Restylane, Juvederm and Belotero are very similar. Their main ingredient is hyaluronic acid, also known as HA. HA occurs naturally in your skin, where it normally repairs your skin from damage. By injecting HA into your skin, you are stimulating your skin to rejuvenate itself using its natural mechanism. The main difference between these three products (Restylane, Juvederm and Belotero) is in the exact formulation. Each product uses HA as the main, active ingredient. But, each product has a different formulation that changes how it interacts with your skin. Radiesse is slightly different, as it does not us HA, but a calcium hydroxylapatite solution, instead. This is another naturally occuring material that is in every one of your bones. The result of using Radiesse, however, is the same. For example, Belotero is useful to make subtle changes to fine lines around the lips and cheeks, as it’s a thinner solution. It’s effects last up to 6 months. Juvederm Ultra, on the other hand, can last up to 12 months and can plump the lips more effectively than Belotero. On your free consultation, Dr. Cohen will let you know which of these fillers can help you reach your goals. You will know the benefits and drawbacks of each solution, so you can make an informed choice with his guidance.

Each filler has a slightly different formulation, which will impact the amount of time you will need to recover. Also, everybody is unique in how long the recovery period will be. In general, you can expect at least a few days of swelling and bruising with any dermal filler treatment. Normally, you will be fully recovered within 4-5 days after your injection. Dr. Cohen advises you to book treatments at least 2 weeks before an important event, like a wedding or vacation. This will give you plenty of recovery time. You should also avoid taking aspirin and apply ice packs for the first 48 hours after your injection. It will help speed up your recovery. The important thing is to recognize that swelling can occur, that everyone reacts differently and you should plan ahead.

With all dermal fillers, it will take 4-5 days or so for the swelling to go down. After that, you will see the impact of the injection. It’s not uncommon to need 2-3 injections, but this depends on your own unique face and the results you want. Dr. Cohen will be able to advise you on how many injections you will need during your consultation.
